You must meet these requirements to be eligible to file a claim:
- Bodily injury or severe emotional stress resulting from the crime (including vehicle crimes such as vehicular assault or homicide, DUI, and failure to secure a load in the 1st degree).
- Crime information-location, classification as a gross misdemeanor or felony.
- Report made to law enforcement within 1 year of the date the crime occurred.
- Reasonable cooperation with law enforcement.
- Timely application (within 2 years of the crime being reported to law enforcement or, for good cause, within 5 years).
- You didn't provoke the situation that led to your injury.
