Taxi/Limo/Cabulance, Reforestation, Mechanized Logging, Drywall, & Trucking
Businesses in these industries have additional reports to file along with their quarterly reports.
Taxi/Limo/Cabulance Reporting Requirements
Worker's compensation insurance now covers drivers of for-hire vehicles, including taxi, limo and cabulance drivers. In January 2012, the Washington State Legislature passed a law (RCW 51.12.180) to ensure all for-hire drivers receive approved medical care and other benefits associated with a workplace injury or accident. A no-fault insurance, workers' comp coverage also protects the vehicle owner from lawsuits by a driver that is injured on the job.
Reforestation Reporting Requirements
A contractor in the reforestation industry must file reports for each contract in addition to their normal quarterly report. Once the contract is signed, the landowner must also file reports.
Mechanized Logging Reporting Requirements
A logging business that meets certain conditions may request L&I authorization to use a mechanical logging classification that will help the firm save money on their industrial insurance premiums. This classification requires them to submit a special report with their quarterly report.
Drywall Reporting Requirements
Premiums in the Drywall Industry are based on the square footage of material purchased and installed instead of the hours worked like premiums in most industries.
Trucking Reporting Requirements
Trucking firms insuring their workers through Washington State industrial insurance must keep and preserve original time records.
