The Curriculum Review Committee (CRC):
- Needs as much documentation as possible to make a fact-based decision on awarding credit.
- Will review courses submitted for continuing education (CE) credit approval. To ensure review at the monthly committee meeting, your documentation must be received at L&I no later than the 20th of the prior month.
- Is made up of 2 representatives from labor, 2 representatives from business, and representation from L&I. Each external representative agrees to serve a 2 year term.
Prior to committee meetings, members are sent copies of the materials submitted for review. The members are responsible for reviewing the information prior to meeting. Course information will not be shared outside the department/committee.
The committee meets by teleconference once a month and in person in Tumwater every 3 months. The CRC attempts to reach a consensus on granting credit. When unable to reach a consensus, a vote is taken and the majority decides. After reviewing the course submittal the committee will either:
- Accredit the course and assign credits based on the category definitions as explained in Continuring Education Credits and Categories.
Or - Deny credit to the course.
After each meeting, submitters' are notified in writing of the course submittal outcome and SI‑CATS is updated with the courses that were assigned credit.
After submitting the application, you will be notified in writing of acceptance or denial of the course; and if accepted, the number of credits and the credit category(s). Once the committee has reviewed the materials and made the decision, no additional documentation will be accepted. The committee's decisions are final.
