L&I and Crime Victims Compensation (CVC) program accepts National Provider Identifiers (NPI) on billings and forms. You may continue to use either your L&I or CVC Provider Account number(s) as well.
It's your choice whether to use NPI or Provider Account number:
- In electronic billing transactions to L&I (not available to CVC):
- Pharmacy point-of-sale,
- EDI 837 billing transactions, and
- Receiving your EDI 835 Remittance Advice.
- On the CMS 1500 Claim form for professional services and UB-04 Claim form for hospital services.
- On other L&I billing and claim forms.
- Attending healthcare providers can access patient information through L&I's Claim and Account Center
