Accessing medical claims from L&I
State Fund claims
The medical claim file is now available to authorized IME examiners on our secure Claim & Account Center (CAC) system.
When an IME is scheduled the claim and IME provider number are used by the claim manager to grant temporary access to the file. Once the IME report or addendum is received, access is revoked.
L&I will continue to supply microfiche on confidential State Fund claims (ie STD, asbestosis) and claims or claim documents received before June 1994.

They will continue to provide you with paper copies of the claim medical file.
Sending reports and/or addendums to L&I
State Fund claims
When you fax your IME reports and/or addendums they are added to the claim file within 24 hours of receipt. The tips below will help you to expedite this process:
- Make sure all claim numbers are at the top right-hand corner of every page.
- Fax 1 worker's information at a time. Do not batch reports for multiple workers in the same fax transmittal.
- Only 1 report and/or addendum can cover:
- Multiple claim numbers for the same worker.
- Exams conducted on the same worker by multiple examiner specialties (i.e., orthopedic surgery, neurology, psychiatry.)
- Do not fax with a cover transmittal sheet.
- Do not fax the assignment letter, it's already in the file.
- Do not mail the report, if you fax it.
