Continue to use the 5th Edition of the AMA Guides to rate impairment for workers covered by L&I.
L&I will notify providers if the 6th Edition is adopted.

Chiropractic Consultants updated requirements
During the 2005 re-write of the Medical Examiners' Handbook (MEH) and the drafting of WAC 296‑23‑317 a small inconsistency with the use of the words "and/or" was overlooked.
During the 24 months prior to applying to become an IME examiner, a Chiropractic Consultants must complete either the:
- Chiropractic Consultant Seminar.
OR - IME Examiners' Seminar.
This error will be corrected in the next version of the MEH and addressed when the WAC is revised. The new IME Provider Account Application packet (F245‑046‑000) is correct.
