Impairment rating
April 3, 2008.
Continue to use the 5th Edition of the AMA Guides to rate impairment for workers covered by L&I.
L&I is reviewing the newly released 6th Edition.
L&I will notify providers if the 6th Edition is adopted.

Examiner update
February 21, 2008.
Beginning February 18, 2008, requests for updated information will be mailed to all examiners whose last name begins with one of the following letters: A, D, G, J, M, P, S, V and Y.
Examiners who are currently listed as temporarily unavailable on the approved examiner list will also be receiving a request for updated information. Examiners who fail to comply with this required update by May 30, 2008, will be listed as temporarily unavailable to conduct IMEs. Access to the Approved Independent Medical Examiner (IME) Update (F245‑051‑000) form is available on this site.
Assignment letter
February 21, 2008.
L&I is revising the assignment letter that is mailed to IME firms and individual examiners after an IME has been scheduled. Approved Examiner Information will be available until the MEH is updated.
