Qualifications for providing worker training

With a current L&I provider number

All schools and training programs that currently have an L&I provider number may continue to provide services without submitting a new application regardless of whether they are licensed, accredited or neither. All schools and training programs must re-apply under new requirements after rules are adopted.

To determine if a school or training program already has an L&I provider number, contact:

Without an L&I provider number

For those schools or training programs wishing to provide services that are not licensed or accredited and do not have an L&I provider number as of December 31, 2007, L&I will use the Interim Guidelines for Approving Schools and Training Programs to determine whether they qualify for a provider number.

Not licensed or accredited school and training program applicants for L&I provider numbers after January 1, 2008 must submit a Provider Account Application (F248‑036‑000) to Private Sector Rehabilitation Services (PSRS) that also includes a narrative statement that addresses each of the criteria in the guidelines. They should be addressed to as follows:

L&I cannot guarantee any plan will be approved involving a school or training program without an existing provider number; therefore VRCs should not submit any plan for a non-licensed or non-accredited school or training program that does not have an existing provider number.

Determining a licensed or accredited school or training program

Note: All approved apprenticeship programs are considered to be "accredited".
