L&I has determined that the Health Technology Clinical Committee (HTCC) decision to cover imaging for breast cancer screening in special populations does not apply to Washington’s workers’ compensation because preventative care is not a covered benefit. (November 2, 2015)

L&I has determined that the Health Technology Clinical Committee (HTCC) decision to cover bariatric treatment for obesity does not apply to Washington’s workers’ compensation because generally, obesity does not meet the definition of an industrial injury or occupational disease. (November 2, 2015)

CMS 1500 billing form requirement starts April 1, 2015 - As of April 1, 2015, L&I will only accept the Version 02/2012 CMS 1500 form. This change is in conjunction with L&I’s conversion to ICD-10 an adoption of industry standards. It will also assist L&I to reduce payment delays due to use of the outdated version.
