Job Summary:

This position provides clerical support within the Employer Accounts - Audit/Revenue Collections Unit; custodian for all Industrial Insurance tax checks. Keep track of and safeguard funds along with issuing receipts.

 

The Office Assistant 3 will:
  • Notify Revenue Officers and Tax Service Representatives of incoming reports and monies received.
  • Process funds to the Department of Labor and Industries and to the Bank of America in Seattle on a daily basis.
  • Verify account information and transmittals for accuracy.
  • Reconcile monies received.
  • Learn to use agency computer software and data bases.
  • Distribute mail.
  • Research and input data for payments received.
  • Assist with mailing legal documents.
  • Compose correspondence.
  • Order and maintain office supplies.
  • Provide support and back up to various other programs.



Preferred Qualifications:

Two years of clerical experience

 

Skills and Abilities:
  • Cash handling and reconciliation.
  • Proficient use of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Proof reading skills with ability to recognize and correct deficiencies, errors, and omissions.
  • Accurately use ten-key by touch.
  • Effectively communicate verbally and in writing.
  • Work independently and with minimum supervision.
  • Set and adhere to productivity standards, deadlines, and work schedules.
  • Maintain confidentiality.


Special Note:
  • Prior to any new appointment into L&I, a background check, including criminal record history, will be conducted.
  • Employees driving on state business must have a valid driver’s license. Employees driving a privately owned vehicle on state business must have liability insurance on the privately-owned vehicle.
