Job Summary:The Prevailing Wage Economist performs economic analyses of the construction industry by conducting wage and hour surveys for established trades and occupations within the industry. These surveys provide the data for complex and comprehensive statistical analyses. These statistical analyses are accomplished through the application of economic theory, the principles and techniques of wage-and-hour surveys, the analysis of fringe benefits, and other economic aspects and tools.
The Prevailing Wage Economist will:
Preferred Qualifications:A Master's degree in economics, statistics, public finance or closely allied field; and two years of professional experience in economic analysis and survey methodology, or one year as an Economic Analyst in State service. Professional experience in economic analysis may be substituted, year for year, for the required education, provided a Bachelor's degree in economics, public finance or closely allied field has been attained.
