Regional Administrators at Labor & Industries represent the agency in their local communities and before state and local government officials, tribal leaders, business and labor representatives, and representatives of the medical provider community. They promote cross-program cooperation and work to build effective working relationships both internal and external.

The Regional Administrators manage supervisors responsible for service delivery of the various L&I programs and direct customer service contact in each office. Administrative and facilities management is also a key component of the responsibilities of the position.

The culture of the L&I Field Services program is team-oriented with an emphasis on high performance and interdepartmental collaboration. As such, the new incumbent will enjoy an environment that is supportive of a collaborative management approach that places trust and a certain level of independence in the Regional Administrator staff.

 

 

The Regional Administrator will be accountable in the following respects:

  • Actively engage in outreach. Establish and maintain effective working relationships with key external individuals and groups. Inform agency management of local service delivery needs and stakeholder perceptions.
  • Provide leadership. Coach, inspire and motivate staff. Set clear, reasonable performance expectations and monitor. Promote a cooperative work environment. Working with staff, solve challenges with service delivery.
  • Understand customer need and ensure customer satisfaction within the region.
  • Manage facility operations and human resources. Develop strategic plan to ensure cost-effective facilities management.

 

 

Qualifications of the successful candidate are expected to include:
The ideal candidate is a leader with established credibility within their organization and community. They value the role of public service. Experience in creating a collaborative relationship and spirit with a variety of stakeholders is of the utmost importance. A history of demonstrating a commitment to staff development and empowerment will be considered favorably. L&I is seeking candidates who are forward thinking and have dealt with the challenges of a public service environment. To be a successful compliment to the Field Services Team, highly qualified candidates will be collaborative team players, superior problem solvers, optimistic, notably innovative, as well as confident communicators.

 

 

Knowledge of:
High-level management principles, budget and facilities management.
Collaborative negotiation, conflict resolution and other problem solving processes and techniques.

 

 

Skills and ability to:

  • Communicate clearly and concisely, both verbally and in writing.
  • Provide leadership that promotes a cooperative work environment.
  • Promote open communication and proactive listening.
  • Communicate complex technical and/or regulatory concepts to a variety of audiences.
  • Establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with a variety of external stakeholders.

 

 

Compensation:
EMS Band 3 $73,764 – 92,208 annually depending on qualifications.
