Provide Training

*Some training is a DOSH requirement; all of it makes good business sense

Use the Employee Safety Orientation to provide the minimum required training

• Company safety rules
• How to do the assigned job safely
• Use and care of Personal Protective Equipment
• Also see how to document training

Issue each employee an L&I wallet card in case of injury

Provide specialized training as required or as needed

• Fulfill the requirement for employees on site with first aid cards.
• Ensure forklift operators are fully trained
  • What's In It For Me - What's the real cost of an accident?
  • What's In It For Me to have my forklift operator trained?
• Anyone operating a powder actuated tool has been trained by an authorized instructor
• Have "competent persons" for scaffold erection, trenching/excavation work

Provide periodic training, as the need arises

• Changes to jobs, processes, equipment, tools
• Discovery of a hazard
