Overview

There is no specific law against bullying in the state of Washington

However, if the harassment falls under the laws against sexual harassment or discrimination based on protected categories, you may contact the Washington State Human Rights Commission at 1-800-233-3247 or www.hum.wa.gov and ask them if you qualify to file a formal complaint.

Recognize and prevent workplace bullying

Workplace bullying is a serious health and safety issue. The targets of bullying may suffer from physical and mental health problems that can last for many years. Bullying behavior also has serious consequences for businesses, including reduced production and failure to achieve workplace goals.
