#96-11-M
Memorandum of Understanding Regarding Pesticide Inspections
Approved:
Michael Wood, Senior Program Manager
Policy & Technical Services
Date Issued:
November 27, 1996
Background
Under legislation passed during the 1996 legislative session, the departments of Labor & Industries, Health, and Agriculture were directed to define their enforcement roles in order to minimize duplication of effort and eliminate any conflicting requirements. As part of this effort, the three agencies developed and signed the attached Memorandum of Understanding (MOU).
This interim memo implements the MOU, which applies whenever WISHA Consultation or Compliance staff are conducting activities related to pesticides. It will remain in effect until comprehensive guidance regarding such MOUs can be provided as part of the upcoming WISHA Administrative Manual.
Policy
The attached MOU between the departments of Labor & Industries, Health, and Agriculture is hereby implemented. WISHA staff should direct any questions regarding the requirements of the MOU or its appropriate application to WISHA Policy & Technical Services.
