| Required heat stress posters? No – it’s a scam | ||
Some employers are calling L&I to ask if they really are required to purchase new heat stress posters being peddled by sales people.
If you get such a call, be aware that the answer is no. Not only is there no new heat stress poster, but if the rule required such a poster, L&I would provide it free of charge.
Please ask for the name and phone number of the caller, and ask them if they
have any information ( name, address, company name, phone number, etc.) about
the person pressuring them to buy these posters. Then pass that information
on to
Mike
Seale, Acting Compliance
Manager for DOSH.
As we have done in the past, we will be working with the Attorney General’s Office as we get more information. Earlier this year, the Attorney General announced that a Michigan company is prohibited from mailing future advertisements that allegedly deceived Washington businesses into purchasing labor law and safety posters.
