Viewing tips for online safety courses

Several people have had trouble using our online safety training courses. Here are some tips that should help you successfully view the courses on your computer.

Problem Solution
I receive an error message like "object is null" or "No object", followed by a message to clear my browser's cache.

The software we use to build and publish these modules requires a specific version of the Java Virtual Machine (JVM) installed on your computer. This problem occurs for people using Windows XP to view our courses. Unfortunately, we cannot publish the training modules with this problem fixed, but here are two links that describe the problem and solution a little better:

Another solution for the Windows XP problem is to view our modules through the Mozilla FireFox Browser.

I couldn't get a certificate of completion! Not all online courses have a certificate of completion. However, if you are asked for your name as part of the course, this course indeed should give you the option of receiving a certificate after you've completed the course. You may need to turn your browser's pop-up window blocker off, or add "http://wisha-training.LNI.wa.gov" to your browser's trusted web sites.
