Course description
Washington State law requires employers, depending on their size, to either regularly conduct foreperson-crew safety meetings or to have in place a formal safety committee. This workshop is designed primarily for those employers who are required to have a safety committee and will provide participants with information on how they can ensure the success of their safety committee and how the safety committee can be utilized to assist in preventing injuries and controlling your claims costs including: What are the Washington State requirements for conducting safety meetings and developing safety committees The purpose, goals, and functions of a safety committee The benefits to the employer and employees of having an effective safety committee Why committees fail Strategies for success! Workshop designed for: Employers who are interested in developing a safety committee or who already have a safety committee but are interested in learning strategies for ensureing the success of that committee and how to better utilize the safety committee in preventing injuries and controlling your claims costs.
