EWACC is a council of apprenticeship coordinators and training directors from registered apprenticeship programs in central and eastern Washington. The group usually meets quarterly the Friday before the WSATC (Washington State Apprenticeship and Training Council) meetings. Exceptions to the meeting time occur when the WSATC meeting is in Spokane or Tri-Cities, then the meeting is scheduled for the Tuesday before the WSATC in the respective city. The Friday meetings are usually held at a central location like Ritzville. We all share the same requirements and challenges in keeping our Apprenticeship Programs compliant and successful EWACC is a place you can learn and network and discuss all things apprenticeship; e.g., recruitment , retention, regulation, RSI, mentoring, funding, and anything else that someone has concerns or opinions that need to be expressed.
The council also works together for recruiting, so that any member attending a career fair can refer any candidate to the program or craft of other members. Members are integral participants in many job fairs, outreach events, and skills panels around the area.
Your participation would be welcomed. All opinions are valued and all programs, including plant programs, joint programs , union programs , open shop programs, are encouraged to be a part of the EWACC. To add your email address to the roster for notifications please respond to dcastle@nwlett.org. You are cordially invited to be a part of the apprenticeship community and EWACC. There is a small dues assessed to cover the cost of meeting room, recruitment supplies (banners, table covers) and any other item voted on by the council. Dues are $20.00 annually and have been skipped in prior years when funds have not been needed.
Please join us for a meeting, see for yourself, and network with other apprenticeship coordinators. Look on the Labor & Industries web page for more information about apprenticeship.
