To work in Washington State, all electrical workers must have a certificate. To hire electrical workers, all electrical or telecommunications contractors must have a license.
Electrical Licenses & Certificates
Apply or renew a certificate or license online, by mail, or in person.
Electrical and telecommunications administrators, electricians and master electricians are required to take the appropriate exam to qualify for their certificate.
Electrical trainees must take certain classes for their initial certification. Electrical administrators, electricians and master electricians must take continuing education courses for renewing their certificates.
