Electrical Board Recruitment – Telecommunications Service Provider
Due to a resignation, there is currently an opening for the Telecommunications Service Provider position on the Electrical Board. An applicant should be an employee or officer of a facilities-based telecommunications service provider regulated by the Washington state utilities and transportation commission and not have ownership in a telecom contracting business. Normally Board appointments are four-year terms, but the remainder of this position’s term will be until July 2014.

  • Application must be made using the Governor’s form available at: http://www.governor.wa.gov/boards/application/default.asp.
  • Send your resume and any additional information you would like considered in a separate email to the Boards and Commissions mailbox.
  • Applications must be received by the Governor’s office by March 1, 2012.

Town of Eatonville now permitted and inspected by L&I

  • Effective January 31, 2012, the town of Eatonville discontinued electrical permitting and inspections. Department of Labor & Industries will now be performing inspections in that area. This area will now be inspected by the Tacoma Service location.

2011 NEC Adoption and Technical Advisory Committe Suspended
The Governor's Executive Order 10-06 limits the department to implementing rules required by the 2010 legislative session. From House Bill 2546, we have added to WAC 296-46B-970(2)(g) the increase from 16 to 32 required classroom education hours an electrical trainee must have to renew their training certificate. Rule development cannot resume until January 1, 2012. Go to our Electrical Rule Development page for more details.
