Test Logs Not Required
 

All the following conveyances are subject to annual inspection and testing. For equipment that have safeties, annual no-load tests and five-year full load tests are required.

  • Special Purpose (see Rule 1010.6
  • Commercial Incline Lifts (see Rule 1010.7)
  • Shipboard Elevators (see Rule 1010.8)
  • Screw Column (see Rule 1010.9)
  • Wheelchair Lifts (see Rule 1010.10 )
  • Rooftop Elevators (see Rule 1010.11)
  • Rack and Pinion (see Rule 1010.12)
  • Limited Use Limited Application (see Rule 1010.13)
  • Elevators Used For Construction (see Rule Section 1011)
  • Escalators
       1-year test must be submitted on forms supplied by L&I.
       Tags are not required (Rule 1007-1009)

Tags must be visible and may be applied to mainline disconnect.

The following Conveyances are inspected by WAC Rules. They all require testing as specified by their respective codes.

Belt Manlifts (see WAC 296-96)

  • Monthly tests and records are required.

Material Hoists (see WAC 296-96 and ANSI A10.5, 1981)

  • Safety tests are required every 4 months as well as regular visual inspections.

Personnel Hoists (see WAC 296-96)

  • Inspection tests are required every 3 months.

Material Lifts (See WAC 296-96.)

  • A 5-year full load test is required.

Hand and Electric Manlifts (see WAC 296-56-60180 and 60135)

  • 1-year no load tests, and other applicable tests
  • 5-year full load test, brake test, and other applicable tests
  • Tags must be visible and placed where applicable

Tags must be visible and may be applied to mainline disconnect.

Important: All work must be completed by qualified personnel. Smoke tests may be performed by owner or owners representative).
