L&I’s Factory Assembled Structures (FAS) section has statewide responsibility for inspecting both new and altered factory assembled structures, and approving plans for alterations (RCW 43.22). With this responsibility under one statewide agency, the goal is to provide consistency and uniformity in application of laws and rules concerning alterations to your manufactured/mobile home.

Get information about doing alterations and getting inspections on the following types of factory-built structures:
Manufactured/Mobile Homes   Recreational Vehicles (RV)   Recreational Park Trailers

A single family residence built to either a state code or the HUD standard.

 

Camping trailers, fifth-wheel trailers, motor homes, travel trailers and truck campers.

 

A trailer-type unit that is primarily designed to provide temporary living quarters.

Conversion Vendor or Medical Units   Commercial Coaches   Residential/Commercial Structures
Vendor food concession unit   portable structure for commercial purposes   Commercial or residential structure
Portable structures used as mobile food concession units or mobile medical units.   A portable structure used for temporary commercial purposes.   A commercial or residential structure built to the current State Building Code requirements.
