Labor & Industries' Tacoma service center to move April 2

TACOMA - The Tacoma office of the Washington Department of Labor & Industries soon will be moving to the Tacoma Rhodes Center, 950 Broadway, Suite 200 -- just a few blocks away from its current location. The new office will open for business Monday, April 2. Telephone numbers will remain the same.

"The new facility will include a larger customer service area and more office space for our 100 employees," said Nickie Moran, L&I's regional administrator in Tacoma. "Our customers won't have to go far to find us because we're moving just a few blocks north of our current location."

To reach the new office, take Exit 133 from I-5 onto I-705 North. Then take the A Street/City Center exit. Go to the third stoplight and turn left on to South 11th Street. The L&I office is in the Tacoma Rhodes Center, which is on the right three blocks up the hill at 11th and Broadway. For parking, go up the hill to the next stoplight, turn right onto Market, then left into the parking garage. There are entrances to the Tacoma Rhodes Center on Court C and on Broadway. Visitors who park in the parking garage can cross two skybridges to get from the garage to the L&I office.

The office will remain open at its current location through Friday, March 30. Most of the office move will occur over the weekend of March 31 and April 1.

For more information about the move, contact Theresa Bunten, field services coordinator, at 253-596-3939.
