New date for Vancouver rate hearing

TUMWATER — A public hearing in Vancouver on the Department of Labor & Industries' proposed 2005 workers' compensation rates will be held Friday, Nov. 12. An earlier announcement incorrectly stated that the hearing would be Nov. 11, Veterans Day, which is a state and federal holiday.

L&I has proposed an average 3.7 percent increase in the workers' compensation rate.

The Vancouver hearing will begin at 3 p.m. at the Red Lion at the Quay, 100 Columbia St.. Written comments must be submitted by Nov. 15. Send them to Kathy Kimbel, Employer Services program manager, P.O. Box 44140, Olympia, WA 98504-4140, or lanz235@LNI.wa.gov.

A final decision on 2005 rates will be announced in late November.
