Agriculture Safety Day set for Feb. 22 in Yakima

YAKIMA — The third annual Agriculture Safety Day will be held Thursday, Feb. 22, at the Yakima Convention Center. The program is designed for employers, supervisors, farmworkers and safety professionals, and all sessions will be offered in English and Spanish.

Agriculture Safety Day, sponsored by the Governor’s Industrial Safety and Health Advisory Board, will include workshops on promoting safety and health in the workplace, tractor and equipment safety, cholinesterase monitoring and other safety topics. Licensed pesticide handlers will be eligible for two pesticide-recertification credits.

The conference fee is $50 and includes coffee and a buffet lunch. Pre-registration is requested but not required. Register online at www.LNI.wa.gov/Safety/Traintools/GovConf or at the door the day of the event beginning at 7 a.m. The program begins at 8:30 a.m. and ends at 4 p.m.
