Competitors needed for King County forklift rodeo
TUMWATER – Professional forklift drivers in the King County area are invited to compete Aug. 23 in a forklift rodeo at the Kent Space Center in Kent. The top seven drivers will win prizes ranging from $50 to $300.
Employers are encouraged to sponsor in-house competitions and send their best drivers. Participation is limited to the first 30 drivers who register.
The top five individual qualifiers from each of three regional competitions – in Kennewick, Spokane and King County – will compete in the 11th Annual Forklift Rodeo at the 57th Governor’s Industrial Safety and Health Conference in Spokane Sept. 24. The conference is co-sponsored by the Governor’s Industrial Safety and Health Advisory Board and the Department of Labor & Industries.
Competitors will test their abilities in a written exam, pre-use inspection of a forklift, and an obstacle course.
