Registration now open for worker safety and health conference
TUMWATER – Registration is now open for the 57th annual Governor’s Industrial Safety and Health Conference Sept. 24 and 25 at the Spokane Convention Center.
The conference is sponsored by the Governor’s Industrial Safety and Health Advisory Board and the Department of Labor & Industries, with support from industry partners. It is one of the largest of its kind in the nation and draws thousands of workers, employers, and safety and health professionals. This year’s theme is "Workplace safety and health doesn’t happen by accident.”
The conference opens with the presentation of the Lifesaving Awards, which recognize people whose heroic acts helped save a life.
Featured conference events and activities include:
- 70-plus industry workshops, including the third annual Small Business Workshop.
- Displays and product demonstrations by more than 100 exhibitors.
- High-voltage demonstration/crane demonstration.
- 35th annual Pole-top Rescue Competition.
- 11th annual Forklift Rodeo.
- SWERVE Sudden Impact Driver Training.
A $140 advance registration fee covers the two-day event; cost at the door is $160. Groups of 25 or more pay $90 each; students and apprentices pay $20 each.
