August 19, 2009 Registration now open for worker safety and health conferenceTUMWATER – Registration is open for the 58th annual Governor's Industrial Safety and Health Conference October 7 and 8 at the Greater Tacoma Convention and Trade Center. The conference is one of the largest of its kind in the nation and draws thousands of workers, employers, and safety and health professionals. This year's theme is "Safety and Health: Together, We Make it Happen.” Conference sponsors are the Governor's Industrial Safety and Health Advisory Board and the Department of Labor & Industries, with support from industry partners. The conference opens with the presentation of Lifesaving Awards, which recognize people whose heroic acts helped save a life. Featured conference events and activities include:
A $140 advance registration fee covers the two-day event; cost at the door is $160. Groups of 25 or more pay $90 each; students and apprentices pay $20 each.
