Logging, per man-hour worked, is the most hazardous industry in the state of Washington. Faulty equipment is only responsible for about 20 percent of the accidents in the logging industry. Unsafe work practices due to lack of training, experience or taking unnecessary risks are by far the greatest contributors to accidents.
