Chemical & Biological Hazards Project

About the Chemical & Biological Hazard Initiative

The SHARP Program identifies serious chemical and biological hazards in Washington workplaces and the workers who are exposed. Washington workplaces contain numerous chemical and biological hazards that have the potential to cause adverse health effects, such as cancer, asthma, burns, and skin problems. We use workers’ compensation data to identify trends in injury and illness. We work with employers and workers to identify and test best practices for eliminating or reducing harmful exposure.
