Rules Under Development

Walking Working Surfaces

WAC 296-24-735 through 73511

All updates for this rule:

Walking Working Surfaces (Chapter 296-24 WAC, General safety and health standards; Chapter 296-876 WAC, Ladders, portable and fixed)

The purpose of this rulemaking is to review and revise the Departmentís standards regarding walking working surfaces. In November of 2016, the Federal Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) issued a final rule updating its general industry Walking-Working Surfaces standards. Consequently, the Division of Occupational Safety and Health (DOSH) will be amending the rules to make them at least as effective as OSHA, as required by the Washington State Plan.844.
