Industry and Economic Sector Platform Applications

Engrossed Second Substitute Bill (ESSB) 5600 established the Industry and Economic Sector Platforms in the 2022 Regular Legislative Session. The Sector Platforms shall operate under the direction of the Washington State Apprenticeship and Training Council (WSTAC).

The Department of Labor & Industries (L&I) is pleased to announce the Industry and Economic Sector Platform Member Application and Initial Industry Sector Platform Program Assignments, as directed by the WSATC are now available by sending a request to the L&I Apprenticeship Section inbox at apprentice@lni.wa.gov.

We invite our programs to share the Member Application with their participating employers and other stakeholders who may wish to participate in the Industry and Economic Sector Platforms. Please return completed applications to apprentice@lni.wa.gov. The Member Application and Industry Sector Platform Assignment documents will be made available on our website, in the coming weeks.

L&I and the Washington State Apprenticeship and Training Council (WSATC) have collaborated extensively on the implementation of the Industry and Economic Sector Platforms to ensure their addition to the Washington Registered Apprenticeship System is both positive and impactful. To accomplish this objective, L&I and the WSATC are evaluating potential adjustments to existing administrative processes and timelines. This may delay the full implementation of the Industry and Economic Sector Platforms. We will continue to provide updates to the apprenticeship community as more information becomes available.

We look forward making the Industry and Economic Sector Platforms a functional, and valuable part of the Washington Registered Apprenticeship System!
