Washington State Logger Safety Initiative

A partnership of government and private industry leaders

The Washington State Logger Safety Initiative (LSI) was started in March 2013 with a goal to:

  • Promote a "safety first" culture for all logging-industry employers and workers.
  • Reduce the frequency and severity of injuries and prevent deaths.
  • Increase proper reporting of worker hours.
  • Explore options to reduce costs in the industry.

For the goals, objectives, core beliefs of the LSI Program

Initiative partners include:

  • Washington Contract Loggers Association;
  • Washington Forest Protection Association;
  • Washington State Department of Natural Resources;
  • Washington State Department of Labor & Industries;
  • Private landowners and logging companies.
