Labor & Industries (L&I) has rulemakings for Contractor Registration and Plumbers.

L&I filed a CR-101 Preproposal Statement of Inquiry to consider changes to the plumber certification rules under chapter 296-400A WAC, on January 18, 2022. The changes under consideration increase fees, address the legislative changes under the 2020 Plumbing Act (Senate Bill 6170 (SB), chapter 153, Laws of 2020), and make updates and other rule changes.

L&I is considering possible rulemaking for updates to the Specialty Contractor Classifications and other rules under Chapter 296-200A WAC, Contractor Certificate of Registration Renewals – Security – Insurance.

Updates on the status of these rulemakings will be provided during the quarterly Advisory Board of Plumbers meeting.
