Labor & Industries is proposing to adopt new safety codes related to elevators and other conveyances statewide. The codes are from the 2019 edition of the American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME) A17.1, and other related codes. L&I is also proposing updates, clarification, housekeeping and other changes to the elevator rules. L&I filed the proposed rules (CR-102) on May 2, 2023. L&I also filed proposed rules (CR-102) on July 18, 2023, to make corrections to the elevator fees. Additional information about this rulemaking can be found here.

An update on the status of these rulemaking will be provided at the quarterly meeting.
