Labor & Industries filed a CR-101 preproposal statement of inquiry to consider adopting new safety codes and for updates to the elevator rules under chapter 296-96 WAC on October 19, 2021, with an expected effective date of November 4, 2022. L&I also filed a CR-102 Proposed Rulemaking to propose increasing the elevator fees by 17% to fund a new Conveyance Management System (CMS) on May 17, 2022, with an expected effective date of August 19, 2022. Updates on the status of these rulemakings will be provided during the quarterly ESAC meetings.
