L&I is considering amendments to the Elevator rules that would increase fees by the fiscal growth factor of 6.41% for conveyances (WSR 25-08-062). The fee increases are needed to support operating expenses for inspections of conveyances and other elevator program services. Additional amendments are also being considered to reorganize the existing fees and make the rules easier to use. L&I plans to file a CR-102 Proposed Rulemaking on June 3, 2025. If adopted, the rule amendments would take effect October 3, 2025.

An update on the status of this rulemaking will be provided during the quarterly ESAC meetings.
