The purpose of this rulemaking is to add direct care registered nurses to the list of those workers for whom posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD) is presumed to be an occupational disease. The adoption of this rule amendment to WAC 296-14-300, Mental condition/mental disabilities, will align with changes to RCW 51.08.142 and 51.32.395 under 2023’s Second Substitute Senate Bill 5454 (2SSB 5454) (Chapter 370, Laws of 2023).
