L&I encourages the submittal of written comments, due by 5:00 p.m. on March 12, 2026.

Purpose

The purpose of this rulemaking is to amend the fees for Contractor Registration, Electrical, Elevator, Factory Assembled Structures, and Plumber rules. The proposed amendments would increase fees by the fiscal growth factor of 6.51% for fiscal year 2027. This rulemaking also makes housekeeping changes to correct a $0.10 error in the electrical rules for the exam non-refundable fee. The fee increase is necessary to cover increased operating expenses for the Programs. The current fee levels are insufficient to cover current Program expenses.
