Purpose

The purpose of this rulemaking is to better align chapter 296-115 WAC, Safety requirements for charter boats, with chapter 88.04 RCW, the Charter Boat Safety Act; U.S. Coast Guard requirements under title 46 CFR; and chapter 49.17 RCW, the Washington Industrial Safety and Health Act. The adopted amendments also address items from an audit of the Charter Boat Program. Additionally, this rulemaking incorporated housekeeping, formatting changes, and a fee increase effective June 1, 2023.
