The Division of Occupational Safety & Health (DOSH) of the Washington State Department of Labor & Industries (L&I) is conducting rulemaking to better align chapter 296-304 WAC, Safety standards for ship repairing, shipbuilding and shipbreaking, with the U.S. Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) personal protective equipment requirements for eye and face protection for Shipyard Employment found at 29 CFR 1915, Subpart I.

L&I invites interested stakeholders to a virtual stakeholder meeting. During the meeting, L&I will provide a brief presentation covering why L&I believes rulemaking is necessary; share the current draft language, followed by an open forum for questions and comments.
