Details

The Division of Occupational Safety & Health (DOSH) of the Washington State Department of Labor & Industries (L&I) is conducting rulemaking to better align chapter 296-304 WAC, Safety standards for ship repairing, shipbuilding and shipbreaking, with the U.S. Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) personal protective equipment requirements for eye and face protection for Shipyard Employment found at 29 CFR 1915, Subpart I.

L&I invites interested stakeholders to a virtual stakeholder meeting. During the meeting, L&I will provide a brief presentation covering why L&I believes rulemaking is necessary, and share the current draft language, followed by an open forum for questions and comments. L&I welcomes stakeholder feedback.

For this rulemaking, we identified the need to provide Spanish translations and interpreters. Two interpreters will be available during the meeting. The draft language has been translated as well.
