Details
The Department of Labor & Industries (L&I) Division of Occupational Safety and Health (DOSH) is conducting rulemaking to align chapter 296-155 WAC, Safety standards for construction work, Part B-1, Occupational Health and Environmental Control, with the requirements of recent legislation (RCW 49.17.530), which became effective June 6, 2024. The new state law updates the requirements for employers in the construction industry to address sanitary conditions for workers who menstruate or express milk and who perform construction activities.

Upcoming Meetings:
L&I invites interested parties to attend upcoming stakeholder meetings. During the meetings, L&I will provide an overview of the rulemaking, share preliminary draft rule language, and provide an open forum for questions and comments. L&I welcomes and encourages stakeholder participation.
