The Department of Labor & Industries’ (L&I) is conducting rulemaking to update Chapter 296-155 WAC Safety Standards for Construction Work, Part N - Excavation, Trenching, and Shoring. A CR-101 (Pre-proposal statement of inquiry) was filed on June 22, 2021. L&I invites parties interested in the Trenching & Excavation rulemaking to attend the stakeholder meetings. During the meeting, L&I will provide an overview of the rulemaking and share the updated draft language and draft work plan, followed by an open forum for questions and comments. L& I welcomes and encourages stakeholder participation and feedback.
