Depending on the job, examples of safety and health hazards that can harm workers in hotels or motels include:
- Heaving lifting, awkward postures, prolonged standing, repetitive motion, and other physical stressors
- Ladders
- Tools, equipment, and machinery with dangerous moving mechanical parts
- Hazardous chemicals and substances (e.g., asbestos)
- Bloodborne pathogens due to contact with used needles, lancets, and other potentially contaminated objects or materials
- Slips, trips, and falls
- Kitchen knives, slicers, and other sharp tools
- Workplace violence (e.g., assaults, robberies)
